Italian industrial designer Achille Castiglioni designed the Snoopy Lamp in 1967. The Snoopy Lamp provides excellent and even downward task lighting for any table or desk thanks to the way the light is reflected by the distinctive high gloss, black metal shade that gives the Snoopy Lamp it's name.
Castiglioni is known for his playful style of design and once he noticed the resemblance of the shade to the muzzle of the Peanuts cartoon character, it was inevitable that it would be named the Snoopy Lamp.
