1. What’s your favourite area in your home and why?
My favourite area is the garden. We designed it and landscaped it all ourselves and it was really hard work but so worth it. The space works perfectly for everyone in our family. The decking area with its corner sofa, festoon lights and pergola is perfect for my partner and I to sit and relax, and there’s lots of space for the children to play safely on the artificial lawn.
2. Describe you home
Our home is an average 3 bed new build, and I have been trying to inject some character with my decor choices since moving in just over a year ago. I haven’t really stuck to one particular style, I like too many different looks so have picked my favourite aspects of them all! I’d say it’s mostly a mix of scandi/boho/country. The colour palette of grey and white with pastel pink and blue runs throughout which helps create flow and continuity from room to room.
3. Tell us about your living room
As we don’t have much space, the living room needs to suit everyone in the family and acts as a playroom as well as a room to relax in. We have 2 large grey sofas and an armchair (all from Sofa Workshop) so that there is space for all 5 of us to sit for movie nights. My sideboard was a great buy as it looks good and is ideal for displaying my favourite ornaments etc, but is also spacious enough to hide all my toddlers toys inside.
One of my favourite pieces in the room is my huge pink rug from la redoute which creates a nice soft area for my toddler to sit and play. Another of my favourite features is my gallery wall where I have displayed photos from my most recent pregnancy and newborn photo shoot. I also love my Arkos floor lamp from iconic lights, it’s enormous and a real stand out piece.
In the autumn I plan to build a mock chimney breast to hide the tv in, with a tiled fireplace to add more character to the room.
4. What makes a house a home?
The people in it! Aside from that, filling it with items you love.
5. What inspires you
I get a lot of inspiration from Pinterest and Instagram. I love seeing what normal every day people have done with their homes!
6. Favourite Iconic Lights products
Armadillo lampshade
Talisman table lamp
Camden tripod floor lamp
7. Top 3 favourite Instagram accounts
This is such a difficult question! I could easily write a list of favourites as long as my arm. Three accounts that I’ve followed and loved for a long time, and that give me loads of inspo are:
Caffeineandcacti
oh.eight.oh.nine
